How our evidence and matching work

We publish the rules behind our recommendations so a reader can challenge them. Our catalog currently contains 10 normalized products. It records market, construction, fit characteristics, price context, source type and the date each source was checked.

Product evidence

1. Manufacturer pages are the preferred source for construction, dimensions, care, trial and warranty terms.
2. Independent tests may support comfort, cooling or durability observations. We label editorial synthesis and never imply first-hand testing.
3. Price snapshots are context, not live quotes. They carry a check date and expire in our internal audit after 45 days.
4. Every affiliate click uses a stable, auditable internal route. Commission never changes a score or ranking.

Pillow Match Score

The 0–100 score is decision support, not a medical rating. Main sleep position has the most weight. Target loft is then estimated from position, shoulder width and mattress firmness. Cooling, preferred feel, budget and owner-adjustable loft add smaller fit signals. An adjustable pillow may satisfy several target heights, but it does not automatically outrank a better position match.

What the score cannot know

It cannot measure your exact compressed pillow height, diagnose pain, predict individual comfort or guarantee retailer availability. Use it to narrow the field, verify current terms and test within a usable return window.

Feedback and privacy

The optional “useful” response stores only language, product ID, a broad score bucket, yes/no and time. It stores no email, free text or profile answers. See our privacy policy.

Corrections

We rerun source and price freshness checks before releases. Material changes are recorded in the public changelog. Corrections can be sent to hello@thepillowadvisor.com.
